Full course description

The Career Advancement Network (CAN) Masterclass

A 7-week networking strategy course leveraging Steve Dalton’s 2-Hour Job Search to tap into the hidden job market.

Figuring out how to land your next major professional role, pivot industries, or navigate the modern job market can feel like a full-time job in itself. While technical skills get you noticed, it is your strategy and professional network that ultimately unlock hidden career opportunities.

The Career Advancement Network (CAN) Masterclass is a noncredit, 7-week cohort-based accelerator built specifically for busy professionals. Moving away from traditional lectures, this mastermind-style course equips you with a systematic, stress-free framework to confidently build strategic connections, navigate professional outreach, and run high-impact informational interviews.

Together with a dedicated cohort of your peers, you will learn to target your ideal companies with efficiency, craft compelling outreach that secures replies, and structure professional conversations to gain critical industry insights and internal referrals—all before the holiday season begins.

This course is an exclusive professional development pilot program offered through the University of Virginia School of Continuing and Professional Studies (SCPS).
